SSI Encoder Simulator
The SSI encoder simulator is able to emulate 8bit to 24bit (opt. 32bit) singleturn or multiturn
SSI-encoder with GRAY or binary code data format and external clock
rates of up to 500kHz. It was especially developed to emulate a
singleturn or multiturn SSI encoder. The hardware outputs a preset dataformat
from 8bits up to 24bits. For this case there are three blocks of DIL
switches to setup the output data signal. This data
structure is transfered to the external and clock generating periphery.
All signals and supply voltage are pluged via one 15pin SUB-D header.
For quick connection there is optionally a
SUB-D / skrew header adaptor available.
An extra output can be used for driving external periphery (e.g. relay, accustical
or optical devices).
There is also the possibility to remote control the SSI-encoder simulator via serial interface (RS232-TTL) or via USB/RS232 adaptor, that can be connected to a PC. With a predefined data structure the user is able to transfer data patterns instead of using the DIL switches. It is also possible to transfer timing variable data (driving profiles). The SSI encoder simulator uses an internal memory buffer of 75 driving profile data words. This memory is structured as a ring buffer. (Data words can be replaced endlessly). After receiving driving profile data words the simulator automatically transfers those data with a 50ms time slice. Therefore the SSI encoder simulator can be integrated into test equipments. There is a demonstration software (free of charge) for WIN7 and WIN10. The SSI encoder simulator is optionally offered as a combi-device for either SSI or differential TTL data signals (A-B-Z).
