The HTL encoder simulator is able to emulate incremental encoder devices with differantial A,B tracks up to 24V and impulse rates of up to 180kHz

The HTL encoder simulator is able to emulate incremental encoder devices with differential A,B tracks and impulse rates of up to 170kHz. For this case there are three blocks of DIL switches to setup the output data signal - a 12bit impulse count per revolution (CPR up to 4095) and a 11bit number for a revolution per second (up to 2047). The upper bit controls the direction CW or CCW. The Z-track (index track) comes - if used - once per revolution. All signals and supply voltage are pluged via one 15pin SUB-D header. An extra output can be used for driving external periphery (e.g. relay, accustical or optical devices).

There is also the possibility to remote control the HTL-encoder simulator via serial interface (RS232-TTL) or via USB/RS232 adaptor, that can be connected to a PC. With a predefined data structure the user is able to transfer data patterns instead of using the DIL switches. It is also possible to transfer timing variable data (driving profiles). Therefore the HTL encoder simulator can be integrated into test equipments. Ing.-Buero Kirchen offers a demonstration software (free of charge) for WIN OS.

The HTL encoder simulator is also available for low voltage output signals up to 5V (instead of 24V). (see TTL encoder simulator). An other option is to generate and output a single 20bit position with 4 choosable clock rates.
  • supply voltage: 12VDC - 30VDC.
  • supply current: <20mA
  • CPR: 1 - 4095
  • revolution per second: 0 - 2047 (122000 rpm)
  • impulse rate: 0kHz - 170kHz
  • A,B tracks: 90° (RS422/24V)
  • PCB board size: 68x43.8mm
