Autosampler Software
The software is used to control an autosampler in an automatic or in a manual
operating mode. It uses either a serial RS232 or an ethernet interface (TCP/IP
or UDP) as connection type to the hardware. After a connection has established
device parameter are transfered.
The softare is able to use or create new racks. The autosampler handles up to
6 different racks with either integrated or separate vials. Vials can be
defined with or without caps and with different volumes.
It is also possible to setup the depth of the needle in a vial within a specific
rack, as well as defining the volume. The software recognizes the maximum depth
to the bottom of a vial via the needle type. By using a fused-silica needle type
the depth is likely deeper than the bottom of the vial.
Working in Automatic mode a joblist can be created or loaded. A joblist contains order for executing an analysis of the probe e.g. the rackposition, the vialposition in decimal or ASCII format (e.g. 12 or A4), the volume and a managing script file. This script file contains control structures for handling periphery like valvepositions, timing management, pump setting, error management and further more. Working in Manual mode the needle connected to the z-axis can be driven to every vial within a specific rack by X-Y positioning in 100um steps. After that, the needle checks first for a cap detection before it goes down until the programmed depth is reached. The software is able to be used in DEMO-Mode. In this case it is not necessary to comunicate with an autosampler device. All functions are working well without the need for a physical interface connected to the hardware. This mode is often used for demonstration purposes or for creating an offline joblist.
